Add or Remove a Budget Period for a Discretionary Award


Concept

In this topic, you will learn how to add or remove a budget period for a discretionary award in G5.


Steps:

  1. Click the Budget Data and Abstracts menu item to begin the process of adding or removing a budget period.

    Step 1
  2. Enter the search information into the Fiscal Year field.

     

    For this example, enter a valid value e.g. "2009".

  3. Enter the search information into the CFDA/Subprogram field.

     

    For this example, enter a valid value e.g. "84.003A".

  4. Enter the search information into the Schedule No. field.

     

    For this example, enter a valid value e.g. "2".

  5. Click the Search button to search for awards which meet the criteria.

  6. Click the Select button to mark PR/Award Number Z003A090002.

  7. Click the Maintain Budget button to move to the Budget Details tab.

  8. Click the Vertical scrollbar to scroll down.

  9. Click the Change Budget Periods button to display the existing budget periods.

  10. Click the Add button to add a budget period.

  11. NoteThe Budget Period Start Date defaults for the new period based on the End Date of the previous budget period.

  12. Click the Show Calendar button to display the calendar for the Budget Period End Date for the new period.

  13. NoteFor this example, the calendar has been advanced to September 2011.

  14. Click the September 30, 2011 cell.

  15. Click the Continue > button to return to the Budget Details tab.

  17. Click the Continue > button to move to the Summary tab.

  18. Click the Vertical scrollbar to scroll down and review the Summary information.

  19. Click the Submit Budget button to submit the change to the system and move to the Confirmation tab.

  20. The system displays a message confirming that the budget was updated successfully.

     

    Click the Vertical scrollbar to scroll down.

  21. NoteIf you want to update budget periods for additional awards, you can click the Done button and return to the search screen to repeat the process.
