Add Abstracts for a Discretionary Award


Concept

In this topic, you will learn how to add abstracts to a PR/Award application in G5.


Steps:

  1. Click the Budget Data and Abstracts menu to begin the process of adding abstracts.

  2. Enter the search information into the Fiscal Year field.

     

    For this example, enter a valid value e.g. "2009".

  3. Enter the search information into the CFDA/Subprogram field.

     

    For this example, enter a valid value e.g. "84.003A".

  4. Enter the search information into the Schedule No. field.

     

    For this example, enter a valid value e.g. "2".

  5. Click the Search button to search for PR/Award Numbers which meet the criteria.

  6. Click the Select button to mark PR/Award Number Z003A090001.

  7. Click the Maintain Abstracts button to move to the Abstracts tab.

  8. Click the Vertical scrollbar to scroll down.

  9. Click the Browse... button to search for an abstract file to upload.

  10. Select the Abstract WM list item.

  11. Click the Open button to pull the file you selected into the Upload Application File field.

  12. Click the Upload button to upload the abstract file into the PR/Award application information.

  13. Click the Vertical scrollbar to scroll down.

  14. NoteOnce the Upload button is clicked, the abstract's file name is displayed in the Selected Abstract Information.

  15. Click the Project Descriptors button to display the project descriptors information.

  16. Enter the information into the Project Title field.

     

    For this example, enter a valid value e.g. "Technology and Local Business".

  17. Click the Vertical scrollbar to scroll down.

  18. Click the Vertical scrollbar to scroll down through the Categories.

  19. Select the Technology list item.

  20. Click the Update > button to update the Reference Project Descriptors field based on the Category you selected.

  21. Select the Technology Transfer list item.

  22. Click the Add > button to add the Reference Project Descriptor you selected to the Current Project Descriptors list.

  24. Click the Continue > button to return to the Abstracts tab.

  26. Click the Continue > button to move to the Summary tab.

  27. Click the Vertical scrollbar to scroll down and review the abstract information.

  28. Click the Submit button to submit the updates to the system.

  29. The system displays a message indicating that the abstract has been saved successfully.

     

    Click the Vertical scrollbar to scroll down.

  30. NoteIf you want to add additional abstracts, you can click the Done button and return to the search screen to repeat the process.
