In this topic, you will learn how to generate congressional notifications.
Steps:
Click the Congressional Notification menu item to begin the process of generating congressional notifications.
Step 1Enter the search information into the CFDA/Subprogram field.
For this example, enter a valid value e.g. "84.066W".
Step 2Click the Search button to search for awards which meet the search criteria.
Step 3Click the Vertical scrollbar to scroll down and view the search results.
Step 4The awards which meet the search criteria and which have the funding status of Obligated display.
Note: You may click the Yes links to view the subprogram's purpose for each of the awards.
Step 5You may review the purpose and, if you wish, update it and click the Update button when you are finished. Note that updating here will only update it on the Congressional Notification, it will not change the subprogram record.
Step 6When you return to the Generate Notifications screen, you may click the Yes link for each award to view their respective abstracts.
Note: If a generic abstract is indicated on the subprogram, then the Generic Abstract section will have a hyper link for you to view the generic abstract. If there is no generic abstract and another type of abstract is indicated on the subprogram, then each PR/Award will have a separate hyper link which can be clicked to view the respective abstracts.
Step 7Click the Vertical scrollbar to scroll down to the bottom of the screen.
Step 8Click the Continue > button to move to the Summary tab.
Step 9The system generates the notifications and displays a message indicating whether or not they were all successful or if there were errors. If there were errors, the system displays an icon for you to click to view the details of the error(s).
Click the Vertical scrollbar to scroll down and view the list of notifications which were generated.
Step 10At the bottom of the screen, the system notes if there were any notifications which generated without abstracts or if there were any notifications which did not generate.
In this example, all the notifications generated successfully. If any notifications had errors, the system would give details to assist with trouble shooting.
Step 11Click the Submit button to save the notifications and send the emails.
Step 12Note: The system displays a message indicating whether or not the notifications were sent. The ones which were sent are marked with a green check mark. The notifications which were not sent are marked with a red "X." In this example, all the notifications were sent successfully. You may send 100 notifications at a time. If you need to send more than 100, you can send them in batches of 100 each.
Also Note: The system creates a link to preview each of the notifications which were sent. You may preview the notifications by clicking the link for each one.
After viewing the notifications which were sent, click the Vertical scrollbar to scroll down to the bottom of the screen.
Step 13Click the Go to Home button to return to the My Home Page screen.
Step 14Congratulations!
You have successfully generated congressional notifications.
