In this topic, you will learn how to create the accounting associated to transactions.
Steps:
Click the Accounting Treatment Maintenance menu item to begin the process of creating accounting treatments.
Step 1Click the Create button to create a new treatment.
Step 2Click the button to the right of the Transaction Type field to display the list of transaction types.
Step 3Click the AD-Drawdown Adjustments list item for this example.
Step 4Note: You may enter treatments for specific Award Types or all award types. This example will focus on all award types.
Step 5Also Note: You may treatments for a specific ACCS Status or for all ACCS statuses. This example will focus on all statuses.
Step 6Click the button to the right of the ACCS Year field to display the choices for ACCS year.
Step 7Select the PR-Prior Year list item for this example.
Step 8Click the button to the right of the Fund Type field to display the list of fund types.
Step 9Select the A-Appropriation list item for this example.
Step 10Click the Show Calendar button to display the calendar for the Effective Start Date field.
Step 11For this example, the calendar has been set to October 2010.
Select the October 16, 2010 cell to set the start date.
Step 12Click the Add GL Account button to set up the first GL account for the treatment.
Step 13Click the Vertical scrollbar to scroll down.
Step 14Click the button to the right of the Amount Indicator field to display the choices for amount indicator.
Step 15Select the NG-Negative list item for this example.
Step 16Enter the ACCS GL code into the Debit Account No. field.
For this example, enter a valid value e.g. "310700".
Step 17Enter the ACCS GL code into the Credit Account No. field.
For this example, enter a valid value e.g. "570000".
Step 18Click the Add GL Account button to add the next GL account.
Step 19Following standard accounting principles, pairs of negative and positive treatments must be set up to create the correct accounting.
Step 20For this example, the remaining accounting pairs have been completed.
Click the Continue > button to continue to the Summary tab.
Step 21Click the Vertical scrollbar to scroll down and review the data you have entered.
Step 22Click the Submit button to submit and save your work.
Step 23The system displays a message indicating that the accounting treatment was successfully created.
Click the Vertical scrollbar to scroll down.
Step 24Note: If you would like to create accounting treatments for additional transaction types or ACCS year, you may click Done and return to the search screen to repeat the process.
Step 25Click the Go To Home button to return to the My Home Page screen.
Step 26Congratulations!
You have successfully created an accounting treatment.
