Purpose: This procedure demonstrates how to set the requirement to flag the Subprograms for receiving the email notifications with balances that exceed the percentage threshold entered in the Maintain Subprogram module. For automatic email notifications to go out to grantees the Balance Remaining Email Notification field must be checked. The email will be sent out on the last day of the third quarter. This applies to all Discretionary, Formula, Supplements, and No-cost time extension awards. The default percentage will be 70% of total obligation amount for all the programs. The authorized user shall have the option to change the threshold for their programs and to flag the subprograms in the Maintain Subprogram screen. A response will be mandatory from the grantee for the subprograms flagged for email notifications.

1. Awards must be in "Open" and "Liquidation" status.

2. The Grantee must have an excessive balance of more than threshold specified in the Maintain Subprogram module at the end of 3rd Quarter of the award budget period.
