In this topic, you will learn how to create a competition tier in G5.
Steps:
Click the Panel Structure menu item to begin the process of creating a tier.
Step 1Enter the information into the Fiscal Year field.
For this example, enter a valid value e.g. "2012".
Step 2Enter the information into the CFDA/Subprogram field.
For this example, enter a valid value e.g. "84.417A".
Step 3Enter the information into the Schedule No. field.
For this example, enter a valid value e.g. "1".
Step 4Click the Search button to search for the competition you entered.
Step 5Click the Select button to mark the competition for Schedule No. 1.
Step 6Click the Create Tier button to create a tier for the schedule you marked.
Step 7Note: There is a check box to include the Generic Performance Assessment Form to evaluate reviewers. If you check the box, then the form will be automatically created and published when you submit the panel structure to be saved.
Click the Include Generic Performance Assessment Form for Reviewer Evaluation option box for this example.
Step 8Click the Auto Create Panels option to have the system create panels automatically.
Step 9Enter the information into the Panel Name field. Note: The system will automatically number the panels as a suffix to the panel name.
For this example, enter a valid value e.g. "Grant Review Panel".
Step 10Enter the information into the Panel Start Date field.
For this example, enter a valid value e.g. "08/20/2012".
Step 11Enter the information into the Panel End Date field.
For this example, enter a valid value e.g. "08/31/2012".
Step 12Click the Vertical scrollbar to scroll down and view the remaining fields on the Competition Tier tab.
Step 13Enter the information into the # Panels for This Tier field.
For this example, enter a valid value e.g. "2".
Step 14Enter the information into the # Reviewers per Panel field.
For this example, enter a valid value e.g. "3".
Step 15Click the Calculate button to calculate the Total Number of Reviewers for the Tier.
Step 16The system calculates the total number of reviewers for the tier and resets the screen.
Click the Vertical scrollbar to scroll down and view the calculation.
Step 17Note: The Total Reviewers for Tier field has updated.
Step 18Click the Continue > button to move to the Competition Manager tab.
Step 19Click the button to the right of the Add Competition Manager field to display the list of competition managers.
Step 20Click the Vertical scrollbar in the drop down box to scroll down through the list of eligible competition managers.
Step 21Select the ERDELYI, THOMAS list item.
Step 22Click the Add CM button to add the Competition Manager you selected.
Step 23Click the Select button to mark the Competition Manager as the Primary Manager.
Step 24Click the Continue > button to move to the Summary screen.
Step 25Click the Vertical scrollbar to scroll down and review the information you have entered.
Step 26Click the Submit button to submit the new tier.
Step 27The system displays a message indicating that the tier has been successfully created.
Click the Vertical scrollbar to scroll down.
Step 28Note: When you check the box to create the Generic Performance Assessment Form to evaluate reviewers, the form is automatically created and published when you submit your work. You may navigate to Grant Setup > Planning and Scheduling > Other Forms to view the form which was created and published.
Step 29Also Note: If you want to create tiers for additional competitions, you can click the Done button to return to the search screen and repeat the process.
Step 30Click the Go To Home button to return to the My Home Page.
Step 31Congratulations!
You have successfully created a tier.
