In this topic, you will learn how to assign budget periods in G5.
Steps:
Click the Slate menu item to begin the process of assigning budget periods.
Step 1Enter the search information into the Fiscal Year field.
For this example, enter a valid value e.g. "2009".
Step 2Enter the search information into the CFDA/Subprogram field.
For this example, enter a valid value e.g. "84.003A".
Step 3Enter the search information into the Schedule No. field.
For this example, enter a valid value e.g. "3".
Step 4Click the Search button to search for the schedule/competition.
Step 5Click the Select option to mark the schedule/competition which displays.
Step 6Click the Assign Budget Periods button to open the Assign Budget tab.
Step 7Note: There are two ways to indicate which applications for which you are entering the budget periods. You can type the last four digits of the PR/Award Numbers in the From and To Application Number fields, or you can check the check box for each.
The latter choice is better if there are fewer applications for which you will enter budget periods. For this example, the check boxes will be used.
Step 8Click the Select option to mark the first application.
Step 9Click the Select option to mark the second application.
Step 10Click the Vertical scrollbar to scroll down.
Step 11Click the Show Calendar button to display the calendar for the Budget Period Start Date for the first budget period.
Step 12Note: For this example, the calendar has been advanced to July 2009.
Step 13Click the July 1, 2009 cell.
Step 14Click the Show Calendar button to display the calendar for the Budget Period End Date for the first budget period.
Step 15Note: For this example, the calendar has been advanced to September 2009.
Step 16Click the September 30, 2009 cell.
Step 17Note: The remaining periods and dates have been entered for this example.
Step 18Click the Vertical scrollbar to scroll down.
Step 19Click the Continue > button to move to the Summary tab.
Step 20Click the Vertical scrollbar to scroll down through the Summary information.
Step 21Click the Submit button to submit the budget periods to the system.
Step 22The system displays a message indicating that the budget periods were saved successfully.
Click the Vertical scrollbar to scroll down.
Step 23Note: If you want to assign budget periods for additional schedules/competitions, click the Done button to return to the search screen and repeat the process.
Step 24Click the Go To Home button to return to the My Home Page screen.
Step 25Congratulations!
You have successfully assigned budget periods.
