In this topic, you will learn how to decommit funds.
Steps:
Click the Commit/Decommit Funds menu item to begin the process of decommitting funds.
Step 1Enter the correct information into the Fiscal Year field.
For this example, enter a valid value e.g. "2010".
Step 2Enter the correct information into the CFDA/Subprogram field.
For this example, enter a valid value e.g. "84.066W".
Step 3Enter the correct information into the Schedule No field.
For this example, enter a valid value e.g. "2".
Step 4Click the button to the right of the Action type field to display the list of action types.
Step 5Select the New Competition list item.
Step 6Click the Search button to search for applications which meet the search criteria.
Step 7Click the Select button to search for applications which meet the search criteria.
Step 8Click the Decommit Funds button to decommit funds for the schedule you selected.
Step 9Click the Vertical scrollbar to scroll down and view the PR/Awards which are available to be decommitted.
Note: The PR/Awards must have a Funding Status of Committed in order to be eligible. If they have a status of Obligated, they are not eligible to be decommitted.
Step 10Note: The Grant Schedule Estimates is a link which you can click to take you to the associated schedule.
Step 11You may review and, if necessary, update the grant schedule estimates. After you are finished, the system will return you to the Decommit Funds screen.
Step 12Click the View ACCS button to view the ACCS information for the first PR/Award listed.
Step 13The ACCS information displays at the bottom of the screen.
Step 14Click the button to the right of the Apply to All field to display the action choices which can be done to all the applications.
Step 15If there was more than one award and you wanted to mark all the awards with the same action, you could select the action and click the Apply to All button.
For this example, there is only one award and it will be marked individually. Therefore, this will be left as "No Action."
Step 16Click the button to the right of the Actions field to display the list of actions available for the PR/Award.
Step 17Select the Decommit list item.
Step 18Note: You may repeat the process for each PR/Award you want to decommit.
For this example, there is only one PR/Award eligible to be decommitted.
Step 19Click the Continue > button to move to the Summary tab.
Step 20Click the Vertical scrollbar to scroll down.
Step 21Click the Submit button to submit and save your work.
Step 22The system displays a message indicating that the awards you selected were successfully decommitted. The associated FMSS ID is also shown.
The Funding Status updates to Pending Decommitment until the transactions complete in FMSS. You may view the FMSS Log by navigating to that menu item, refer to the topic entitled Viewing the FMSS Log.
Step 23Click the Vertical scrollbar to scroll down.
Step 24Note: If you would like to decommit funds for additional schedules, you may click Done and return to the search screen to repeat the process.
Step 25Click the Go to Home button to return to the My Home Page screen.
Step 26Congratulations!
You have successfully decommitted funds.
