Complete and Submit an Electronic Application


Concept

In this topic, you will learn how to complete an application package.


Steps:

  1. Click the Package Submission menu item to begin the process of completing and submitting an electronic application.

  2. The Application Packages tab displays.

     

    Click the New button to display the list of application packages which are available.

  3. Note:  You may sort the list of application packages by double-clicking the appropriate column heading.

     

    Click the Select button to mark the REAP Application Package.

  4. Click the Continue > button to continue to the next screen.

  5. The system displays a message indicating that the package has been added to your list.

     

    Note:  The package is in Draft status.

     

    Click the Select button to mark the package you just added to your list.

  6. Click the Initiate/Work On button to begin entering data on the application.

  7. The Package Information tab displays.  There are links to view the instructions document as well as send an email to the Department Contact.

  8. Click the Vertical scrollbar to scroll down and view the forms.

  9. Note:  Before you begin to edit the forms, each one has the status of Blank.

  10. Click the Select button to mark the first form which displays.

  11. Note:  You may view the form before entering data by clicking the View Form button.

  12. Click the Edit Form button to begin entering data on the form you selected.

  13. Note:  The sample form shown is the REAP Application Form.  The required fields are marked with asterisks.

  14. Also Note:  As you complete the information on the form, you may save your work periodically by clicking the Save button at the bottom of the form.

  15. After you have completed all the required information, click the Form Complete option to indicate that the information you have entered is complete.

     

    Note:  You will need to mark each required form as complete in order to submit your package.  You may edit the forms as many times as you like before submitting the package.

  16. Click the Save & Return to Package button to save your work and return to the package information.

  17. The system displays a message indicating that the form has been saved.

  18. You may repeat the process for each of the forms until they are all complete.

  19. Click the Preview Package button to generate and view the forms you have completed in PDF format.

  20. The system generates a message indicating that the application package was successfully generated.

  21. Once you click the Preview Package button, a link displays which you can click to see the forms in PDF format.

  22. Click the Click here to view the Application Package Document link to view the application.

    Note:  You should also print the forms at this point in order to sign them and fax them to the REAP Program Office at the Department of Education.

  25. After reviewing and printing the forms, click the Close button to close the tab on your browser and return to the G5 tab.

Note:  If you need to make any edits to the forms at this point, you may select the form you need to edit and once again click the Edit Form button.  Once the form opens, you will need to uncheck the Form Complete box before making any edits.  Remember to re-check the box once your edits are completed.

  27. Click the Continue > button to continue to the Summary tab.

  29. Click the Submit button to submit the application.

  30. The system displays a message indicating that the application was successfully submitted.  The PR/Award Number is also generated and displayed.

     

    Note that the naming convention for the PR/Award Number is:  5 digits for the CFDA and Subprogram Information + 2 digits for the fiscal year + 4 digits for the application/award number (S358A + 11 + 7924).

     

    Click the Vertical scrollbar to scroll down.

  31. Note:  If you would like to complete and submit applications for additional schedules, you may click Done and return to the search screen to repeat the process.
