G5 Mobile Navigation for External Users


Concept

In this topic, you will learn basic navigation in G5 Mobile for external users.


Steps:

  1. When you navigate to www.G5.gov on a supported mobile device, the G5 Mobile home page will appear.

     

    If you would like to access the main G5 web site and all system functionality, click the Full Site link.

  2. On the G5 Mobile home page, you must log in using your email ID and password. 

     

    You may also read the Department of Education's terms for using the G5 site by clicking the link.

  3. After entering your Email ID and Password, you must check the box indicating that you accept the Department of Education's terms for using the G5 site.

  4. Click the Login button to log in to G5 Mobile.

     

    Note: If you experience issues logging into G5 Mobile, please click the Full Site link to access the Forgot Email ID or Password option.

  5. Once you log in, the system displays the Home Page and menu bar.  The menu bar displays the functionality to which you have access based upon your G5 roles.

     

    In this example, the menu bar includes:

    Payments - to create, modify, and cancel payment requests and view transaction data

    Profile - for viewing and modifying contact information associated with your G5 account

    Helpdesk - provides links to contact the G5 Helpdesk

    Links - provides links to related government, higher education, and student aid websites

  6. The home page displays the News and Events section.  This field provides information on upcoming system upgrades, pending and resolved issues, and maintenance alerts.

  7. Arrow icons in G5 Mobile indicate that a field is either expandable or linked to another page.

  8. You are provided with a preview of each item in the News and Events section.  You can click the field to expand and view a listed topic.

     

    In this example, click the appropriate field to view the Electronically Signed Grant Award Notification (GAN) topic.

  9. Click the Profile menu item to view your user profile.

  10. The My Profile page allows users to view and edit profile information.

     

    You can view Payee Information and Roles by clicking the titles to expand those fields.

  11. Click the Menu button to display the menu bar.

  12. Click the Helpdesk menu item to contact the G5 Helpdesk.

  13. The Help Desk page provides contact information for the G5 Hotline, as well as the hours of operation.

     

    You can click the links to call or email the G5 Hotline if your mobile device supports such functionality.

  16. The Links page allows users to quickly access related websites by clicking on the title.

     

    After selecting a link, you can use the Back button on your browser to return to G5 Mobile.
